JV80.DK Help File
Loading in the file JV80.DK will setup Band-in-a-Box for the Roland JV80
multi-timbral synthesizer module.
It will setup:
1. Drum #'s for the General Midi Standard(Standard Roland Drum Note Numbers).
2. General Midi (GS) Patch Map
3. Startup Patches and Channels in the Midi Settings Window.
The Roland JV80 offers 8 channel Multi-timbral capability and 28 note
polyphony with a vast array of 18 bit sounds that can be used in a wide
variety of musical situations. There are A,B and INT(internal) sound banks
on the JV80 with 64 tones available on each making a total of 192 tones on
board. However, only the A and B banks were accessible via Patch changes 0
to 128 which is the limit for the General MIDI Patch Map.
Select "Performance-Play" and any one of the Bank or Number keys for a patch
that can accept more than one Instrument/MIDI channel at once.No further setup
is required once the file JV80.DK has been loaded via "Load Drumkit From Disk"
under the Drums pulldown menu. Please be aware of the Voice Reserve settings
for each MIDI channel or the notes from each instrument Band-in-a-Box
is outputting might not be heard.
Have Fun!
